About Us
We make justice accessible to older adults in need.

Who We Are
Elder Law & Advocacy is a group of experienced attorneys, staff, and volunteers who serve over 6,000 seniors annually in San Diego and Imperial counties.
We provide free civil legal services and Medicare counseling to qualifying seniors and people with disabilities. Our team also provides community education, events, and advocacy to advance seniors’ rights.
Why We’re Here
Without access to legal support, many seniors face injustice.
Illness, mobility issues, and economic disadvantages put older people at increased risk for abuse and scams. Seniors may encounter unfair treatment from nursing homes, landlords, neighbors, and others.
Our lawyers and staff are here to advocate for older adults in our community. Our goal is that every senior has access to the legal system, regardless of their mobility or economic status.
Our Goal
Every senior in our region has access to justice.
We work to protect the rights of older adults through legal services, healthcare counseling, community education, and advocacy in San Diego and Imperial counties.
Our Approach

Accessible
All seniors deserve access to legal protection and healthcare. Whether we host a clinic or work with someone on the phone, we make it easy to get help.
Empathetic
Our attorneys and counselors ask intentional questions and listen carefully. By understanding what a client wants, we can take the right steps toward that outcome.

Clear
Our clients must know their options so that they can make informed decisions. We make complex issues easy to understand.

Informed
Our attorneys and staff have extensive experience in elder law and Medicare. We have worked with seniors for decades and understand the unique problems they face.
Proactive
Through community awareness and strategic partnerships, we work to reduce problems like elder abuse, housing instability, and the complexities of healthcare.
Funding
Elder Law & Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Government
State and federal funding is provided through San Diego County’s Aging & Independence Services, Imperial County’s Area Agency on Aging, and the State Bar of California.
Other Funding
Private grants provide additional funding. This community support is essential in reaching over 6,000 seniors every year.
Additional Support
Our work is made possible, in part, by generous voluntary contributions from individuals in our community.
A special thank you to our generous funders and supporters.
We could not do it without you!
